This mosaic jeweled crown with blue jays looks great as a stand alone piece, or can be used to compliment an existing element, such as the silver mosaic angel wings. I’ve long been a fan of the crown motif and have often used it in my work over the years, but I’m really enjoying creating these elaborately embellished crowns with glass crystal jewels.
Materials Used: particle board, foam insulation, styrofoam balls, vintage blue jays china, amber mirrored glass, assorted glass crystal gems and rhinestones, glue, sanded tile grout
Measurements: approximately 15″L x 15″W x 3″H

This mosaic jeweled crown is part of a large scale commissioned piece I recently completed. I’ve used the crown motif many times in my work over the years, but this is the most elaborate embellishment it has ever received…and I must say, it was so fun! I will definitely be making more jeweled crowns in the future.
